Craft Group News

  • We hope that we'll soon be able to get together for our evenings at the Store. Our April meetings on 9 and 16 April have now been cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns and we hope we can start again in May (14th and 28th).  In the meantime, we do hope you'll be able to start making lovely things for our stall whilst under lockdown.  As you can see from the photo, Penny has already been busy and here are a few ideas for tree decorations.  If you would like to copy any of these, and don't have the materials, Penny is going to make up kits for each of them.  Please get in touch with her if you would like a kit and someone can leave a parcel on your doorstep whilst out for their daily exercise.

  • The 2 litre plastic bottles which we made into colourful flowers during the summer formed part of our recycling projects stall in Wokingham market and have now been donated to WADE for their sensory garden.  We hope our flowers will add a splash of colour in the garden during the winter months and will be visible by WADE members from their Centre on the Reading Road.

We are a friendly bunch, and a warm welcome awaits any newcomers – do feel free to drop by any time to find out more, or just for chat. The kettle is always on! We meet from 7-9pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month from April to November down at the Ormonde Road Trading Store.

If you have a skill you'd like to share, or ideas of things we could make this year, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with Penny at

History of the Craft Group

The WHA Craft Group started up in 2016 with the aims of:

  • creating gorgeous and saleable items for our stall at the Wokingham Winter Carnival (Last Sunday in November)

  • giving us the opportunity to learn new skills from each other, whilst enjoying tea/coffee and cake together in the convivial setting of our ever-changing new look Trading Store.

  • meeting new people and making new friends through craft
